It’s Simply Rewarding
A lot of us think about giving back to the community, but never get to it. Why? Mostly because we don’t know how or we’re afraid it’ll be too much work. While nothing as rewarding as being a Lion comes with no effort, you’ll be amazed how simple it is to become a member and how little of your time it will take.
There are no tests, no initiation rituals or secret handshakes. There are no requirements at all beyond having a desire to put your time and talents to work helping people in Bolton and around the world. If helping others sounds interesting, we’re interested in meeting you!
The first step is to come to one of our meetings for a bite to eat and to learn more about what we do. If you know one of our current members, give him or her a call and they’ll get you started. If you are accepted for membership annual dues are $65 per year.
Can’t wait for the next meeting? Print and fill out this form and contact us. Simple, right?
We’ve got answers!
Q: What do the Lions do?
A: In two words, we serve. Our fundraising activities allow us to help neighbors experiencing hardship, students seeking scholarships, doctors providing healthcare to the isolated and disadvantaged, and researchers seeking cures for Diabetes, glaucoma, and other diseases that rob people of sight. Learn more about what we do and how you can make a difference in Bolton and beyond.
Q: Are you a charity?
A: The Bolton Lions operate the Lions Club of Bolton Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organized exclusively for charitable purposes. Your donations and ticket purchases to our events benefit this charity and donation receipts are available to you for a tax deduction.
Q: Can women be Lions?
A: Absolutely! The Bolton Lions currently benefit from the active contributions of several women members, and we’re always seeking to grow. Join us!
Q: Where and when do you meet?
A: The Bolton Lions meet the first and third Wednesday of every month, from September through June at 7PM at the Public Safety Building on Wattaquadock Hill Road. Come visit us, and see how you as a Lion can have a direct and positive effect on the lives of people in your community.
Q: Are meetings mandatory?
A: No. While we encourage you to participate in our bimonthly meetings we understand that members have personal and professional interests and obligations that will mean missing a meeting now and then.
Q: Are there ways I can contribute that don’t involve membership?
A: The best way to contribute to the club is to participate, but there are other ways you can help whether behind the scenes or with financial contributions.
Q: Are there dues?
A: Yes, the Club has annual dues of $65. The Club’s annual dues are forwarded directly to Lions Club International and are tax-deductible.
